By Arun Sajnani,

RABTA Will the audience have a (Connection) – with this film called “RAABTA”?? Well unfortunately from the makers of “Cocktail” & “Finding Fanny”, this film has a great idea that goes down into the abyss.

It has been a while for a reincarnation film to come from Bollywood, and films like “Karan-Arjun” & “Karz” are considered to be cult classics in this genre, but “RAABTA” fails in the second half of the film. It is a love triangle that takes 800 years and comets to bring these two men, one who is now a present day banker, and the other a liquor tycoon, both who vying and pledging their undying love to Saira, played by Kriti Sanon.

The past medieval times in India, and the present scenes shot in Budapest are visually breathtaking, but the so much over the top, and hamming by Sushant Singh Rajput & Kriti Sanon, makes you feel very irritable. They look artificial.

The only thing that is interesting to watch is the “Neerja” debutant Parsi actor- Jim Sarbh who plays the villainous role with quirkiness and unusual mannerisms, with a Hindi-European accent, but towards the end even his performance fizzles out and is also over the top in stupidity. The film gets only a 1 and a half star recommendation. Courtesy Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
