By Arun Sajnani,

MOM- It took me some time to intake this film called, “MOM”, and give it my view on this film. It features the legendary Actress – Sridevi in her 300th Film. After “English Vinglish”, she gets serious and emotional with her in the leading role. Many critics have compared this film to films that are based on rape cases like, “No One Killed Jessica”, or comparing it as modern day revenge saga like “Andhaa Kanoon”, but I would not want the audience to get influenced there.

The film’s content, the histrionics buy all, especially from Sridevi to Nawazzudin Sidiqqui, as the detective, Akshaye Khanna, and particularly new find Pakistani Actress, Sajal Ali have given all power packed performances,

The scenes between the daughter and her differences between her stepmom, and how the family gets shattered when they find out that their elder daughter has been brutally raped just chokes you with gut wrenching emotions.

If you have your own daughter, and you see your mother like a protector, another face of God, then that message has been well executed by the director, Ravi Udaywar. The way the film has been executed and treated gets full marks from me.

Yes it is heavy, but sometimes we need see what we should do for justice and for humanity. Its a wake up call indeed. The film gets a 3 star recommendation. Courtesy Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
